Celebrating B Corp Month: Why It Matters to Synoptic
March is B Corp Month, a time to recognize businesses that balance profit with purpose. Synoptic is pleased to celebrate with the nearly 10,000 Certified B Corporations worldwide, all dedicated to using business as a force for good.
Being a B Corp means that Synoptic upholds rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. Every decision we make considers the impact on people and the planet—not just the bottom line.
Synoptic is one of the few weather-focused B Corps, and this month we’re proud to reaffirm our commitment to focusing on people, planet, and sustainability, and celebrate the collective impact of businesses striving to create a better world.

Variable Highlight: Soil Temperature Added to the Synoptic Data Viewer
Soil temperature is a key factor for agriculture, hydrology, and weather forecasting—impacting crop growth, water availability, and even frost risk. We’ve recently enhanced how this variable is displayed on the Viewer so that users can gain deeper insights about local conditions. Soil temperature values are delivered for each level of sensor reporting. Check it out in our Data Viewer! And coming soon, we’ll also be adding soil moisture values to the Data Viewer!

Synoptic is pleased to add the Palau and Marshall Islands networks to our Data Viewer and Weather API! This network consists of 6 stations - 3 in Palau and 3 across the Marshall Islands. Variables include basic parameters, such as temperature, humidity, wind, and more. We’re proud to work with NOAA and NIWA to collect this data. NIWA is New Zealand’s largest provider of climate, fresh water, and ocean science information and owns/operates these stations.
